Aslı Atasoy Öner - Lighting
I am in Berlin-based lighting designer and multidisciplinary artist working across theatre, dance, performance, and installation.
I studied Cinema and Television at Marmara University’s ( istanbul ) Faculty of Fine Arts and have worked in lighting design and technical theatre across Berlin, the UK, and Turkey for more than 15 years.
My practice explores light as a spatial, dramaturgical, and sensory medium. I am interested in how light shapes perception and transforms spaces, often working with shadow, reflection, color, rhythm, and movement. Alongside of my work in theatre and performance, I develop collaborative and site-responsive installations that bring together light, sound, space, and material.
My installation practice explores the relationship between body, vulnerability, memory, and the environments we inhabit. My work includes Silent Scream, a light and sound installation addressing femicide and women’s empowerment, and Softcore Intervention, presented at the 48 Stunden Neukölln Festival in Berlin in 2026. Softcore Intervention became the starting point for POROUS, an evolving exhibition exploring the body as a porous boundary shaped by relationships, touch, intimacy, memory, and encounter.
